How can I delete file dates?

Windows will store the following dates for each of your files:
  • Date file last accessed
  • Date file created
  • Date file last modified
These dates are stored within the file allocation table.

Windows will NOT allow you to remove these dates. You can however use the "Date" feature of FileMonkey or JPEG Japery (select the "Quick-Find/Dates" menu item from the main window) to change these dates.

What about JPEG Dates?

JPEG files store the following dates in standard exif format:
  • Date picture digitized
  • Date picture modified
  • Date picture taken
These dates are stored within each file's contents.

You can use the "Date" feature of JPEG Japery (select the "Quick-Find/Dates" menu item from the main window) to change these dates.

You can use the "Delete" feature of JPEG Japery (select the "Quick-Find/Delete" menu item from the main window) to remove these dates.

You can also use JPEG Japery's delete feature to strip all data from your picture files (except the picture) making your jpegs smaller in size (without any loss of quality).
