BatMonkey - About

The BatMonkey is a nifty little free file utility which enables you to do some windows related stuff that would take time to do manually, for example: backup favorites to restore them at a later date.

BatMonkey is designed for Windows 98 and Windows ME only.

Download

Click HERE to download the latest free full version of BatMonkey (Windows 98 and Windows ME Version 1.00 - about 20KB ).

This software is also available for review or download from FreewareFiles.com

Main Window

The main window is the main interface of BatMonkey. From here you can access the following menus:

1. Advanced32 menu: this allows you to quick launch hidden windows programs like scan disk, disk defragmenter etc.

2. Delete Menu: this allows you to delete unneeded files.

3. Backup Menu: this allows you to backup certain files like internet favorites so that you can restore them at a later date. Warning: Restoring files will delete all original files first. That is: if you have added new files since your last backup, they will be deleted before the backed up files are restored.

4.Help...: this will open the help file for help.

5.Uninstall menu: use this facility to uninstall BatMonkey. This will remove all traces of BatMonkey from your system, including any backup files that are stored in the folder: C:\program files\BatMonk.

6. Quit to Dos: this will close BatMonkey and bring up the standard dos prompt. To exit from here type: exit. To launch BatMonkey again, type: BatMonk at the prompt.

7. Quit: this will close BatMonkey and return you to Windows

8. Dos SendTo item: send a file to this shortcut to open a dos prompt at the file location, for example: if I send C:\mydocu~1\monkey.txt then the dos prompt will open at C:\My Documents

Requirements

Requirements:

BatMonkey relies on components common to windows. BatMonkey will run under Windows 98 and Windows Me. Files that BatMonkey will need are:

Edit.com
Deltree.exe
Xcopy.exe
Move.exe

These should be found in the folder: C:\Windows\Command.

BatMonkey also needs C:\Command.com

As these products are third party (provided by Microsoft), MonkeyJob Systems cannot provide a direct download link to them.

If however, you are missing these files, you should be able to restore them from your Windows set-up CD. You may also find them in one of your cabinet files located at: C:\Windows\Options\Cabs or you can download them from the Microsoft website using Microsoft Windows update.
